APAD #NYC: Of famines and Holocausts

I went to visit the Jewish Heritage Museum today, which is a memorial of the Jewish Holocaust and Anti-semitism on the suggestion of a friend. The experience, was humbling, terrifying and raised so many questions  about the extent to which humanity can be lost.

"..their choice was not whether to live, but what way to die.."

“..their choice was not whether to live, but what way to die..”

I also visited the Irish Hunger Memorial – reminiscent of the Great Irish Famine. I almost missed it as I passed what like a half-acre park in the middle of the street- that turned out to be the memorial. Though I found nothing spectacular about the architecture, the inside walls were all lined with quotes about the famine – they were something to read about!

..and a hundred other quotes

..and a hundred other quotes

I also ended up spotting the Statue of Liberty as I was gazing at the river near the World Financial Center.

The Arrow Points at the Statue of Liberty :P

And caught this amazing view while chatting with a fisherman trying to catch some for himself.
